$4 million for traumatic brain injury research

The Australian Government has announced $4 million for traumatic brain injury research. Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

More than 700,000 Australians have a brain injury, which can limit and restrict participation in daily life.

$4 million is available from the MRFF’s Traumatic Brain Injury Mission for research that:

  • finds ways to improve care for mild traumatic brain injury
  • delivers new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sports-related concussion.

The Australian Government has also welcomed the release of the Traumatic Brain Injury Mission Roadmap and Implementation Plan.
