The Australian Government has today announced new and returning appointments to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Board, ensuring the Board can continue to deliver for people with disability and their families.

Mr Nigel Ray PSM, Ms Lois Boswell and Ms Jane Spring have been appointed to the NDIA Board, bringing with them a wealth of experience across disability advocacy, public administration, human services and governance.

Current members Dr Graeme Innes AM, Dr Richard Fejo and Ms Estelle Pearson have been re-appointed for an additional 3-year term, recognising the importance of leadership continuity and corporate knowledge in guiding the Board’s work.

The NDIA Board plays a vital role in managing the delivery of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), ensuring it can continue to meet the needs of NDIS participants across Australia, now and into the future.

This includes overseeing the strategic direction, governance and performance of the NDIS, in addition to supporting the NDIA to deliver a well-governed, effective and sustainable Scheme for participants, families and carers.

Strong, effective governance is central to delivering on the government’s vision of an NDIS that supports choice and control, delivers better outcomes for participants, and remains sustainable for the future.

The appointments and reappointments were supported by a majority of state and territory Disability Ministers, consistent with governance arrangements for the Board.

The terms for Dr Innes, Dr Fejo, Mr Ray, Ms Boswell and Ms Spring have begun this month. Ms Pearson’s new term will commence on 11 October 2026.

NDIA Board members are appointed on a part-time basis for a period of 3 years.
