The Box Hill community will now benefit from a new headspace centre.
headspace is the primary national platform for people aged 12 to 25 to access mental health services.
It provides a safe and welcoming place for holistic care, offering mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and drug support, and vocational services to fully support young people in Box Hill and the surrounding region.
The Albanese Government has provided the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network with funding to establish the headspace centre as part of a $278 million investment to enhance and expand the headspace network.
The new headspace is located at level 1, 19-23 Prospect Street, Box Hill, close to public transport, local schools and the Box Hill Institute, and is operated by Mind Australia. It joins the network of 159 headspace services operating nationally.
For those young people unable to attend a headspace site, eheadspace provides free, telephone and web-based support services to young people aged 12 to 25 years with, or at risk of, developing mental illness. Further information on eheadspace is available online at: www.headspace.org.au or by phoning: 1800 650 890.
