Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Emma McBride visited the Liverpool Medicare Mental Health Centre.

Since officially opening July 2023, the service has offered a safe and welcoming place for local adults in crisis to get on the spot support and care.

Services are free, with no referral or appointment needed. Information, clinical services and support are delivered by highly trained multidisciplinary teams over extended hours.

Medicare Mental Health Centres are building on the established Head to Health network with a $29.9 million investment to lift capacity for each centre to provide free access to a psychologist or psychiatrist on call.

The Albanese Government is rolling out 61 Medicare Mental Health Centres across the country, including 22 in New South Wales.

The Government is providing South Western Sydney PHN more than $18 million to commission the centre, which is operated by Neami National.

Anyone can access services by calling 1800 595 212, or by visiting the Liverpool Medicare Mental Health Centre at 203 Northumberland Street, Liverpool NSW.
