National Epidermolysis Bullosa Dressing Scheme (NEBDS)
We fund the National Epidermolysis Bullosa Dressing Scheme (NEBDS) to help families meet the high costs of epidermolysis bullosa (EB) treatment. EB is a rare genetic disease that mostly affects children. It makes skin very fragile and prone to blisters. Special dressings are needed.
The NEBDS helps eligible people with EB access dressings, bandages and ancillary products at a reduced cost. It also ensures a consistent level of care across Australia.
The scheme is currently administered by Independence Australia on behalf of the Australian Government.
