Residential Aged Care Accommodation Pricing Review

Role

On 12 September 2024, the Australian Government released its response to the recommendations of the Aged Care Taskforce (Taskforce). As part of that response, the government committed to an independent review of accommodation pricing in residential aged care.

This review was held from August 2025 to April 2026.

Final report

The final Independent Review of Residential Aged Care Accommodation Pricing report was tabled in Parliament on 22 April 2026. 

Members

Mr Nigel Ray PSM and Associate Professor Nicole Sutton were appointed as independent reviewers.

Consultations

A consultation paper (see link below) was published on 30 September 2025. A submissions process ran until 10 November 2025 and is now closed.
