Upcoming stakeholder webinars
The IAG is developing its advice on a draft implementation roadmap for government consideration and invites interested stakeholders contribute to this process by attending one of three webinars being hosted by the IAG Chair, Professor Andrew Wilson. The session will provide insights into the IAG’s development of the roadmap and the proposed approach to the prioritisation of actions.
The webinars will be one hour in length and be held virtually over Microsoft Teams at the following times (please note all times are AEDT):
- Tuesday 7 October 3pm
- Wednesday 8 October 12:30pm
- Friday 10 October 2pm

Role
The IAG is responsible for guiding reforms in response to the findings and recommendations of the HTA Policy and Methods Review (the HTA Review).
The IAG will adopt a collaborative approach in co-designing and supporting implementation of the government’s response to the HTA Review.
The IAG will:
- be an expert advisory group on reform implementation design
- provide advice on the prioritisation of recommendations
- develop a roadmap for sequencing the government’s response to the recommendations of the HTA review.

Terms of reference
The chair and members of the advisory group will work to the terms of reference. The terms of reference provides detail on purpose, deliverables and timeframes.
In-line with the terms of reference, the Minister for Health & Aged Care has outlined his priority areas for IAG consideration in a letter to Professor Andrew Wilson, IAG Chair.

Meetings
The IAG meets regularly to discuss and progress findings and recommendations of the HTA Review.
IAG members are also engaging directly with stakeholder groups including consumer organisations to keep them updated on the progress of the work of the IAG.
Interim Report
The IAG’s Interim Report was finalised in August 2025 and provides an update on the IAG’s activities since its establishment.
The IAG has consolidated its early insights into the following five focus areas:
- improved access and equity
- greater transparency and engagement
- modernised assessment pathways
- better data use and enhanced evidence
- HTA workforce capacity and capability.
The IAG’s Chair, Professor Andrew Wilson, also provided the Minister with a cover letter highlighting further insights for government consideration.
