Role
The committee advises the Health and Medical Research Office on the strategic priorities for research investment under the HTA stream, which is part of the Preventive and Public Health Research initiative. The initiative is funded by MRFF.
The role of the committee is to:
- identify, discuss, prioritise, and refine grant opportunities under the HTA stream
- support the monitoring of MRFF grants that are relevant to HTAs
- undertake other work as needed.

The Australian Government appoints various HTA committees. The chairs of these committees make up the membership of the HTA Chairs Committee.
The chair of the HTA Chairs Committee is Adriana Platona. She is the First Assistant Secretary of our Technology Assessment and Access Division.

Meetings
The committee meets up to 4 times a year, with extra meetings held as needed.
