Disability and Health Sector Consultation Committee

The DHSCC is a forum for people with disability, their carers, health and disability sector representatives and professionals, academic experts, and Commonwealth, state and territory governments to discuss policy matters relating to health and disability supports.

Role

The role of the DHSCC is to:

  • Share information and ask for feedback on health supports and access to health services for people with disability. This includes matters related to the direct and indirect impacts of communicable diseases (e.g. COVID-19) on people with disability.
  • Discuss current and new issues for people with disability when accessing disability support and health services, identify priorities and suggest approaches to address concerns raised.
  • Discuss and provide updates on other relevant topics members are interested in.

The DHSCC does not replace other consultation mechanisms focused on specific policy, program and delivery initiatives.
