Winter Vaccination – Health Professional Video – Vicky Dermatis

Vicky Dermatis explains why getting vaccinated against influenza (flu), COVID-19 and RSV helps protect you from serious illness this winter.

01:36

As we get older,
the risk of serious illness from influenza,
COVID-19 and RSV increases,
especially during winter.
Viruses are always changing,
which is why staying up to date
with your vaccinations is so important.
The risks increase particularly
for people aged 65 years and over.
Vaccination is one of the best ways
to protect yourself
from severe illness and hospitalisation.
The good news is that
you can receive your flu,
COVID-19 and RSV vaccines
at the same time or separately.
If you’re aged 65 years and over,
your flu vaccine is free
under the National Immunisation Program.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free for everyone.
And if you’re aged 75 years and over,
your RSV vaccine is also free
under the National Immunisation Program.
To access the free flu and RSV vaccines,
you will need to have a Medicare card.
I encourage you to speak
with your GP or pharmacist
and book your vaccinations today.
Stay well. Stay healthy.
Be winter-ready for the moments that matter.
