Mpox vaccination data

Learn about Mpox immunisation data and see the tables for Mpox data from 2022 onwards.

Overview

Mpox is a viral infection that has re-emerged in recent years. Vaccination plays a critical role in preventing the spread of mpox and protecting public health. This page provides data on mpox vaccination coverage across Australia.

Vaccination coverage

The data presented on this page reflects the number of mpox vaccine doses administered to individuals, as reported to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). It is important to note that reporting to the AIR is not mandatory, so the numbers provided may represent an undercount of the actual vaccinations administered.

  • Caveats:
  •  It is not mandatory to report mpox vaccinations to the AIR, so the numbers provided may represent an undercount of the actual administrations of the vaccine.
  • Note: the National Total does not include doses of unknown state or territory
  • There is a known administrative lag in AIR data. AIR data may fluctuate over time based on the timing of providers uploading vaccine administration information into AIR.
  • Data with fewer than 25 vaccinations have been suppressed to reduce the risk of re-identification, and doses reported have been rounded up to the nearest 10.
  • As at July 2025 mpox vaccination data was adjusted to amend a data quality issue.
