Partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations

We work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and stakeholders to ensure aged care services meet the individual needs of older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Closing the Gap

Our work aligns with the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to support healthy ageing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Read the:

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Council (NATSIAACC)

NATSIAACC is a national member-based aged care peak body that represents the views of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations in aged care.

We work with NATSIAACC to ensure the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, older people and providers are met.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

NACCHO is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing.

We work with NACCHO to improve aged care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

NACCHO also delivers Elder Care Support.

First Nations Aged Care Governance Group

The First Nations Aged Care Governance Group (FNACGG) is a non-statutory advisory group that provides us with strategic advice on aged care priorities affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

NATSIAACC co-chairs the FNACGG with us.

NACCHO and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peak bodies are also members of the FNACGG.
