There's more to Medicare – First Nations animation

This animation provides an overview of Medicare benefits such as affordable health care, urgent care, mental health services and dental services for eligible children.

1:20

Medicare helps cover the costs of our healthcare, making it more affordable for all of us.

That's why the government is continuing to invest in Medicare's future, making it stronger to meet your healthcare needs.

A stronger Medicare means services from doctors, clinics and other health professionals are cheaper for everyone. And if they bulk bill you, they're free.

A stronger Medicare means more free walk in Medicare urgent care clinics for things that can't wait for a regular doctor's appointment but aren't a full blown emergency like sprains, small burns or serious stomach aches. A stronger Medicare means more walk in Medicare mental health centres.

They're free and you don't need an appointment, a referral, or even a Medicare card. And a stronger Medicare means access to something called the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which can pay for basic dental care, keeping your kids teeth healthy.

A stronger Medicare helps keep you, your family, and your community strong.
