About the workforce
The Single Assessment System workforce will bring together current aged care assessment workforces from 9 December 2024.
New assessment tool
The Integrated Assessment Tool was introduced in July 2024 to assess eligibility for aged care.
New Single Assessment System workforce coming 9 December
The Single Assessment System workforce will bring together and replace the Regional Assessment Service, Aged Care Assessment Teams and independent Australian National Aged Care Classification assessment organisations.
From 9 December 2024, assessment organisations will be funded to conduct:
- all aged care needs assessments for in-home aged care, flexible aged care programs, residential respite and entry into residential aged care, and/or
- residential aged care funding assessments.
We are working with new, continuing and exiting assessment organisations to support a smooth transition. There should be no disruptions for anyone waiting for an assessment.
