How we update My Aged Care
We regularly update the My Aged Care system, based on your feedback.
This includes listening to feedback from the following groups:
- assessors
- service providers
- people receiving aged care services, their families and carers
- consumer advocates
- My Aged Care contact centre staff
- Australian Government and state and territory government representatives.
We make sure we involve people from diverse groups, such as:
- First Nations people
- culturally and linguistically diverse people
- LGBTIQA+ people
- people who live in rural and remote areas.
When we update the My Aged Care system, we also update any affected resources and guidance documents.
The most recent versions of all resources are in the My Aged Care resources list, including user guides, fact sheets and manuals.
Recent updates
A range of improvements will be introduced as part of the My Aged Care System October 2026 release, including:
- providers can now apply for, manage, renew and remove verified specialisations through the Service and Support Portal, with improved visibility of specialisation information across My Aged Care tools and services.
- the Client Journey Tracker has been reintroduced to provide a clearer view of a person's progress through the aged care system, including Support at Home stages where applicable.
- people identified as living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) will now automatically receive urgent priority access to the Support at Home program following assessment.
- enhanced access controls help ensure client information is only available to authorised users through strengthened user access and account management processes. Aged Care Gateway portal users are reminded that any information accessed through the portals must be handled in accordance with their obligations under the My Aged Care Terms of Use, the Privacy Act 1988 and, where applicable, the Aged Care Act 2024 (the Act).
