The Interim First Nations Aged Care Commissioner works across the aged care system to advocate for greater access to culturally safe, trauma-aware and healing informed aged care that meets the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.

Background

Andrea Kelly was appointed as the Interim First Nations Aged Care Commissioner in January 2024. This appointment was made in response to recommendation 49 of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
