As a health worked, there’s nothing I love more than helping to bring happy, healthy bubbas into this world.
But protecting your new bub from serious illness starts way before birth, with free vaccines you can get while you’re pregnant.
These vaccines help protect your baby against influenza, whooping cough and respiratory syncytial virus, also known as RSV, and are called maternal vaccinations.
They are free on the National Immunisation Program for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. You can safely get all three vaccines in one visit, or you can get them at different times, as recommended by your doctor or health worker.
Yarn to your midwife or health worker about getting your free maternal vaccinations for influenza, whooping cough and RSV. And remember, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 to protect bub in pregnancy.
