I'm Eliza, this is my wife Shannon, and this is Artie.
He was born in October 2025. He's seven months old. We found out we were pregnant in January 2025. We were very, very excited. I had a pretty good pregnancy. I was expecting the worst, but I loved being pregnant.
So we know that RSV is a respiratory infection and anyone can get it, but it can be really serious in babies, especially newborns.
My niece had RSV when she was about one year old and it was pretty serious. She had to go to the hospital.
Speaking with our GP, she had suggested getting the vaccine, and made it pretty clear to us that was the right choice for us and our family.
We were happy to go with whatever she suggested. It was really straightforward. We had it at my GP, and we had it the same time as the other vaccines that were recommended during pregnancy.
We'd rather have that than him actually get RSV after he was born. We are very social people, so we had lots of friends and family come over after he was born. And I think just knowing that he was protected from getting really sick, knowing that he wouldn't, you know, end up in a hospital, that was our main concern.
The protection, it's, yeah, it's something that we would do over and over again. I think listen to the healthcare professionals. Listen to your GP and the midwife. They have your best interest at heart, as well as your baby, and I think that, why wouldn't we listen to what they're saying?
Yeah, if they're suggesting something, they're suggesting it for a reason.
