G'day. I'm Dick Johnson and motor racing has been my life ever since I was a kid. All I ever wanted to do was race cars.
I started a very young age and after I got out of the army of two years, national service, I've been in motor racing ever since.
I used to smoke every single day and the reason that I gave it up because my father, he died of emphysema and if you've ever
seen anyone suffer from emphysema, you'd know what I'm talking about. It's horrible. You just can't breathe.
Or you know, just seeing my father go through the health problems he had, I didn't want to go the same way.
I got to a point when I was smoking where I felt as though I was heading down the same Rd as my dad did, where I was struggling to breathe in the race car.
I was struggling to breathe properly and that point in time I said to myself, I've got to do something about this.
Smoking affects your mood, the way you present yourself to people, the way you smell, and not only that but your general health.
No matter what you do, there's always help there to give you an idea of what you can do to quit. My advice is just quit.
