Some medicines are not considered suitable for 60-day prescriptions.
For example:
- if larger quantities of a medicine could be a safety risk to patients and the community
 - if a medicine is new and rare side effects may not be well known
 - if patients taking certain medicines require regular monitoring such as blood tests, or the dose of a medicine may need to be adjusted, or where symptoms are unpredictable, or
 - if a medicine is prescribed for short-term management of symptoms in chronic diseases.
