As a high performing athlete, it's super important that we take good care of our body day in, day out. An important part of swimming is my lung capacity, and by choosing not to vape, I'm increasing my chances of performing at the highest levels when it matters. Vaping can cause harm not only now, but in the long run. And those harms consist of breathing difficulties, lung damage, coughing. And nicotine's a highly addictive substance which can affect your mood and your performance in and out of the water. If you're currently vaping, it's always a good time to quit. Don't let peer pressure push you into anything you don't want to do. It can be hard to say no at first, but back yourself, and your friends are there to help and support you along the journey.
