The initiative supports nurses moving into primary health care and encourages them to have a central role in team-based approaches to delivering care.

The Suicide Call Back Service is a 24-hour nationwide service that provides free telephone, video and online counselling for anyone who is affected by suicide.

We are reforming in-home aged care. The new Support at Home program replaced the Home Care Packages Program and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme on 1 November 2025. The Commonwealth Home Support Program will transition to the new program no earlier than 1 July 2027.

We provide funding to 4 professional organisations that represent sections of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce. This initiative is part of the Stronger Rural Health Strategy.

A living organ donor is someone who donates a kidney or partial liver to another person – usually a relative or close friend – who has end-stage kidney disease or liver failure. This program helps with the financial stress of recovering from donating an organ.

We are funding outreach healthcare activities to improve access, delivery, quality and coordination of services for victim-survivors escaping from family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV).

This initiative gives general practitioners (GPs) an opportunity to self-assess their pathology referral process using data relevant to them. It supports quality use of pathology requests, or other alternatives if they are a better choice.

We are funding the Supporting Recovery pilot program to provide trauma-informed recovery care for victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence.

The Supporting Rural Specialists in Australia program helps specialists in rural and remote Australia access educational opportunities. It provides support and training via online learning programs, and grants to rural specialists to access training not available in their home town.

We are funding a range of activities to help primary care services better respond to family, domestic and sexual violence including child sexual abuse. These include developing resources that will support primary care services.
