Help on Health remote access

If you need to work remotely, there is a range of solutions to keep you connected to your workplace and your colleagues. Information about the available options and how to get set up is available on this page.

Internal staff

Please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance:

External staff

Please contact your designated Health representative to put you in touch with the appropriate support.

Important

Some of the steps require the use of the My Self Service Portal (MSSP). This is accessible through the Health desktop. If you cannot access MSSP, please contact a colleague that has access to the Health desktop and who can raise a request on your behalf.

Options for connecting to the Health network

1. For remote access physical desktop or VDI

This option provides access to your Health desktop using remote access software on a personal device.

You will need:

  1. a personal device, for example, a tablet, iPad or computer
  2. the FortiToken application installed on a mobile device
  3. remote access software installed on your personal device
  4. an internet connection.

To set up remote access:

  1. contact the IT Service Desk and request FortiToken
  2. install FortiToken on an Android device or on an Apple iOS device
  3. install remote access software and connect to the desktop (see Installing remote access software and connecting to the desktop).

2. For mobile access

This option provides access to email, calendar, intranet, and corporate directory from a corporate or personal smartphone or tablet.

You will need:

  1. a personal mobile device, for example, a smartphone, tablet, iPad or iPhone
  2. the Workspace ONE applications installed on a mobile device
  3. the Webex application installed on a mobile device
  4. an Internet connection.

To set up mobile access:

  1. Install Workspace ONE on an Android device or Apple iOS device

Installing remote access software and connecting to the desktop

The standard remote access solution connects you directly to your HealthIT network account via the internet. It offers a similar experience to working in the office.

The standard remote access solution is available for the following devices:

  • most computers with an Internet connection, a compatible web browser and operating system (Windows or Mac)
  • a personal tablet or iPad with a Wi-Fi connection.

Android devices

For example, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Google Pixel Slate, Lenovo Smart Tab and Amazon Fire HD tablets:

Apple iOS devices

For example, iPads:

Apple computers

For example, MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro using MacOS:

Windows 10 computers

This can be any computer running a Windows 10 operating system. If you are unsure of which operating system your device is running contact your devices IT support team. Please note Windows RunTime is different to Windows and is not supported for remote access.
