COVID-19 vaccination – Vaccination of your support workers – Auslan

Information in Auslan for people with disability about vaccination of their support workers.

1:06

Vaccinations in Australia are voluntary, including the COVID-19 vaccine, and you have a choice over the people you employ to support you.

However, all states and territories have mandated COVID-19 vaccination for disability support workers through public health orders.

If your support worker doesn’t want to be vaccinated against COVID-19, contact your service provider.

Your service provider will need to consult with you to make alternative arrangements for you to receive support.

This may mean finding a different support worker for you.

For more information, you can:

If you need information in a language other than English, you can call the National Coronavirus and COVID-19 Vaccine Helpline on 1800 020 080 and press option 8. This is a free service.

You can also call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450.

The Australian Government, state and territory government helplines will also have information on how people with disability can access the vaccine.
