I think it's a great way to bring the aged care community together and to move outside our own individual comfort zones and area of concern. I work for Southern Cross Care. It actually helps us to pre-select a group of people who would be perfect for our environment, so it actually saves us a lot of time. We'll be able to expand our services which we want to do, and we can't do that without staff. So pure and simply it'll just be amazing if we could just get the start. I have such a very clear understanding of the social, the financial and the economic benefits for enabling people to stay living in their own homes. People want to stay living at home connected to family, to friends, to their community that they identify with. they don't want to leave especially at that time of their life.
Care Community is the Home Care Workforce Support Program in Western Australia. It is funded by the Australian Government to help connect people with jobs in aged home care. North Metropolitan TAFE leads the Home Care Workforce Support Program in Western Australia, in partnership with South Metropolitan TAFE. Their goal is to grow and upskill the home care workforce to help older people remain independent and live at home.
