My name is Britney, and fitness and family is my story. I grabbed a cigarette, I lit it, when I was 14. Just went on from there, got addicted, and became a full‑time smoker.
Smoking made me feel old. I’d wake up in the morning and have a coffee and a cigarette, and I didn’t like it. I did have a few quit attempts during my pregnancies. After that, I’d get back on it. With a cancer scare in 2012, it was a big thing, especially with my age as well.
Coming up to 25, I’ve realised that it’s like a mark half way to 50. The scare of that cancer made me come to my final decision of quitting. I don’t want to have to find out later in life that I’ve got lung cancer or something like that.
If I did get sick from smoking, it would have taken a big toll on my family. I’ve quit officially for six months. The worst thing about smoking is that it costs you money now and it could cost your health in the long run.
If you’re a smoker, don’t make smokes your story.
