On 17 August 2015, the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA) released the National Alcohol and Other Drug Workforce Development Strategy. The strategy is the first of its kind, designed to assist in the development of a skilled, effective and adaptable AOD workforce in Australia.
This strategy aims to:
- improve the skills of the AOD workforce so they can better reduce AOD-related harm
- prepare the workforce for the future.
The AOD workforce includes paid and unpaid workers from the health, welfare, criminal justice and education sectors.
