The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee has endorsed visitation guidance for residential aged care facilities with advice on visitation arrangements depending on the COVID-19 situation within the community.

Note: some jurisdictions may have more specific requirements/arrangements in place.

The guidelines include information based on a 3-tier escalation framework for residential aged care facilities on:

  • restriction of entry
  • care and support in regards to visitation
  • visitation limitations and information
  • external appointments or gatherings.
