National COVID-19 Residential Aged Care Emergency Communication resources

The National COVID-19 Residential Aged Care Emergency Communication guide and templates provide guidance on communication in advance of and during, a COVID-19 outbreak.

The guide covers roles and responsibilities, communication protocols and processes for the Australian Government, State and Territory Governments, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) and residential aged care facility providers.

This guide and templates provide advice and direction, the information should be used in a flexible way that best suits the event, situation, location and facility. The documents may also be of interest for peak bodies, and advocacy and cultural organisations involved in residential aged care communication activities.

The activities outlined may be increased or decreased, depending on the level of transmission and may occur simultaneously, dependent on resources. These activities and obligations are consistent across all escalation tiers as outlined in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) – National aged care guidance – escalation tiers and aged care provider responses.

We aim to provide documents in an accessible format. If you're having problems using a document with your accessibility tools, please contact us for help.
