Recent allocations

Every financial year the Minister will determine the number of places that are available to be allocated under the Multi-Purpose Service Program (MPSP). These places can then be allocated to individual providers to use to deliver aged care services under the program.

Recent allocations are listed below. We will update this page when more places are allocated to expand the MPSP.

2024–25 MPSP allocations round

The 2024–25 MPSP allocations round was finalised on 2 January 2025.

This round allocated all of the 102 places made available by the Minister for allocation in 2024-25

These places will create 3 new and expand 10 existing MPS:

  • 68 new residential aged care places in New South Wales
  • 20 new residential aged care places in Queensland
  • 14 new residential aged care places in South Australia.

The places were allocated on a provisional basis. They will come into effect once the relevant provider has demonstrated they are ready to deliver services using the places.

We estimate this will increase annual funding for the MPSP by around $7.5 million.
