New COVID-19 MBS item for GPs
A temporary MBS item is now available to support you when providing face-to-face treatment for COVID-19. patients The MBS item is in place until 30 June 2022.
You should provide most care for people who test positive for COVID-19 virtually using the telehealth MBS items. You should only COVID-19 patients face-to-face where you are willing to, and it is clinically appropriate.
To support this, we are making free PPE bundles available under emergency conditions.
Use MBS item 93715 – where you are assessing and managing a person with a laboratory- or rapid antigen- confirmed COVID-19 infection.
