2020 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR)

The 2020 ACAR results have been announced. Find out who was successful in receiving new places and capital grant funding.

Status

The 2020 ACAR closed for applications on 18 March 2021. Results were announced on 30 July 2021.

Results

The 2020 ACAR allocated:

  • 4,098 residential care places
  • 1,028 short-term restorative care (STRC) places
  • $150 million in capital grants

2020 ACAR: Feedback for applicants

This document provides further insight into the 2020 ACAR results including subscription rates and outlines some of the common reasons why applicants seeking an allocation of places and/or capital grants in the 2020 ACAR were successful or unsuccessful.

Discontinuation of the ACAR

There will be no further ACAR following the conclusion of this round, marking the start of a transition period to a new system where places will be allocated directly to senior Australians.
