The Australian Government provides vaccines to protect against 17 diseases for eligible people through the National Immunisation Program.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has recently published a series of Fact Sheets on these 17 vaccine preventable diseases. They provide information about the diseases and their impact in Australia, including the number of cases reported, hospitalisations and deaths.

A Fact Sheet on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people shows they experience a higher burden from vaccine-preventable diseases.
