This alert provides important updates for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers, including the updated CHSP manual, changes to SCHADS Award, and current grant opportunities.

2021-22 Financial Declaration statement

The 2021-22 Financial Declaration statement is due by 30 July 2022.

Updated CHSP Manual

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) Manual 2022-23 and website content have been updated to reflect program changes for the one-year 2022-23 extension. The updated Manual can be accessed on the department’s website under CHSP Resources.

SCHADS Award changes

The department recognises that CHSP providers have been impacted by the recent changes to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award, the increase to award wages and other inflationary pressures. CHSP providers will be able to apply to use unspent funds or seek emergency funding to ensure continuity of current service levels. Grants available

CHSP providers can now apply on the Grant Connect website for additional funding to support their service delivery, including:

  • GO5679 – transition support funding to assist providers adopt a payment mechanism in arrears for service delivery as part of the change from advance quarterly to monthly payments
  • GO5672 – ad hoc funding under for service demand, respond to unforeseen and exceptional circumstances including COVID.

Sector Support and Development activities for 2022-23

The Sector Support and Development (SSD) activities for 2022-23 have been published. An update on the SSD consultations is available on the Ageing and Aged Care Engagement Hub and thank you to all SSD providers who participated.
