The National Immunisation Strategy for 2019 – 2024 has now been released. It builds on the success of the previous five year strategy (2013 – 2018).

The 2019-2024 Strategy comprises eight strategic priority areas which are designed to complement and strengthen the National Immunisation Program (NIP).

It aims to outline the framework for the prevention and severe outcomes of disease by maximising coverage in people of all ages. It is also consistent with Australian, state and territory government collective efforts and outlines Australia’s key role in the Asia-Pacific region.
