Have your say on priorities for research on dementia and healthy ageing
We are consulting the public on the draft roadmap for the Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission. You can make a submission until 17 February 2020. Feedback from the Australian public will help the Government refine its strategy and prioritise funding for critical dementia and aged care research.
Public consultation on the draft Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission roadmap is now open. The Mission is part of the Medical Research Future Fund. We invite your feedback on the proposed high-level roadmap for the Mission.
To make a submission please visit the Consultation Hub, which contains the draft roadmap and the consultation questions.
The public submission process will close at 5pm on Monday 17 February 2020.
In December 2018, the Australian Government announced the Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission. The Mission funds research to support older Australians to:
- maintain their health and quality of life as they age
- live independently for longer
- access quality care when they need it
The impact of dementia in Australia is considerable and continues to grow as Australia’s population ages. Dementia is now the second leading cause of death in Australia. For women, it is the number one cause of death.
