From the AGPT Program intake for 2021, all applications will go straight to the GP colleges (Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners).

The Department of Health will no longer be involved in assessing eligibility for the program.

This will make the application and assessment process much easier for both applicants and the GP colleges.
