In the 2021-22 Budget, the Australian Government announced reforms to the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), including the transition to payment in arrears from 2022-23.
CHSP grant agreements will be extended for one year from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. Providers will transition to payment in arrears and consistent unit prices.
The department has worked closely with a group of CHSP providers, along with ACIL Allen Consulting, to inform the implementation approach.

The department will host a webinar on 17 November 2021 to update CHSP providers on the 2022-23 extension. Providers will be able to ask questions about the proposed CHSP reforms and impacts on their business. For those unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and available online.
