Work is underway on an impact analysis to understand potential implications of moving to an alternative model for allocating residential aged care places that encourages greater consumer choice. There will be upcoming consultation opportunities for you to have your say about possible alternative models.
No decisions have been made about any changes to the Aged Care Approvals Round or to any implementation or transition arrangements. Your input will be important to ensure a comprehensive understanding of potential implications across all stakeholder groups and will help inform future decisions.
There will be two ways to have your say:
- Discussion Paper
You can prepare a written submission to a public discussion paper that will be available on the Department of Health's Consultation Hub; and/or - Face to face Discussion Forum
A discussion forum will be held in each capital city. There will also be opportunities for stakeholders in non-metropolitan areas to take part in discussions.
