The Department of Health is seeking submissions from residential aged care facilities interested in administering COVID-19 vaccinations to their staff, residents and family members.
RFT Health/22-301174 enables residential aged care facilities to submit proposals to vaccinate their staff, residents and family members.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have the capability and infrastructure to administer COVID-19 Vaccines.
Proposals can be submitted at any time up until 11 March 2022, 2.00pm (local Canberra time). Initial contracts will be up until 30 June 2022, with a possible option to extend until 31 December 2022, if required.
Applicants must be approved providers under the Aged Care Act to be eligible, and have a demonstrated history of delivering influenza vaccinations safely and efficiently.
Importantly, this is a limited process as each organisation can only apply to do their own sites. Applications will be assessed on their own merits as they are submitted.
The Department is not seeking lengthy complex tender responses, we anticipate the requirements could be addressed in 5-15 pages. The Department will aim to assess these quickly to allow providers to commence as soon as practicable.
Please also note minimum requirements and essential requirements on pages 8-11 of the RFT, notably:
-
Must be an approved provider of residential aged care as referred to in the Aged Care Act 1997.
- Must have capacity and capability to administer at least 100 doses of the Vaccine to staff, residents and family members.
- Requirement to complete the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 Vaccination Training Program prior to the administration of Vaccine.
- Ability to comply with relevant cold-chain management requirements and quality controls for COVID-19 Vaccines.
