The screening advice for residential aged care facilities and home care service providers has been updated on 21 June 2021. The key messages for this update are:
- Advice is given by the Chief Health Officer
- Staff who have identified as fitting the “Monitor for symptoms” contact category are not excluded from entry/work on that basis.
- For visitors, the advice is clarified that anyone who has been to any close, casual or monitor for symptoms locations in NSW in the last 14 days is excluded.
Until further notice the Chief Health Officer advises:
For facilities located in Greater Sydney (including Nepean Blue Mountains and Illawarra, but excluding Central Coast).
- All staff and visitors must wear a surgical mask. Under the Public Health (COVID-19 Mandatory Face Coverings) Order (No 2) Amendment Order 2021 this is mandatory in Sydney's local government areas of Bayside, Canada Bay, Inner West, Randwick, City of Sydney, Waverley and Woollahra when you are indoors
- Only two visitors should be allowed each day
- Visits should be in the resident's room.
There are new close and casual contact locations in the Sydney and Illawarra regions.
There are new COVID-19 exposure locations in ACT.
There are close or casual contact locations in Queensland.
The state of Victoria is currently considered an affected area and there are new places of high concern.
