Notification of positive COVID-19 cases for Tasmanian aged care providers

All aged care service providers are reminded to immediately notify the Commonwealth Department of Health of any COVID-19 cases among residents, consumers and staff. This applies to residential aged care and home care services.

Reporting a positive COVID-19 case

Following the identification of a positive COVID-19 case, please email the Commonwealth Department of Health. This notification is in addition to notifying your Public Health Unit.

Under the Privacy Act 1988, this information should be de-identified and should not include personal or private information that can identify a resident or staff member, such as an individual’s name, address, date of birth or contact details. It should also not include information about a resident’s movements or passing.
