As Queensland emerges from the severe weather over the weekend, many aged care services are facing the challenge of clean up, staff shortages due to flooding, and needing other general assistance.

In the first instance, as per your business continuity plans and evacuation plans, request for assistance should be made to your Local Council to support your needs. Councils will have a Local Disaster Management Plan on their websites and key contact information can be found in these documents.

Local Councils are best placed to support you, whether it be for food, clean up, evacuation support or other needs.

See facilities in the Brisbane City Council area.

Your Local Council will escalate any issues where local assistance needs further support.

For all COVID related issues, providers should notify the Commonwealth Department of Health via the My Aged Care Portal.
