Consultation forums in capital cities and teleconference discussions for non-metropolitan areas will be held for stakeholders to provide feedback on the recently released public discussion paper on alternative models for allocating residential aged care places.

Moving to an alternative model for allocating residential aged care places would be a structural reform of the aged care sector, with potentially wide reaching implications for consumers and providers. Your input will be important to ensure a comprehensive understanding of these impacts.

Submit your expressions of interest (EOI) to attend forums in capital cities or teleconference discussions in non-metropolitan areas, via Eventbrite. EOIs close on Monday 15 July 2019, 11.30 pm (AEST).

The project lead, Professor Mike Woods (University of Technology Sydney), in collaboration with Grant Corderoy (StewartBrown) and the department, are particularly interested in hearing from consumers (including carers or other consumer representatives); service providers; lenders, investors or financiers; workforce associations; and peak bodies representing consumers/advocacy, carers, and providers.

Dates for forums in capital cities are below. Dates/timings of teleconference discussions will be advised once EOIs are considered.

  1. Perth: Monday 12 August
  2. Canberra: Wednesday 14 August
