The Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care and Minister for Indigenous Health, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP has announced the allocation of 775 new Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) places worth an estimated $58 million per year. These include:
- 350 in 2018–19
- 425 in 2019–20
The STRC Programme increases the care options available to older people, through a time-limited, goal-oriented, multi-disciplinary and coordinated package of services. It is designed with, and approved by, the care recipient. It may be delivered in a home setting, a residential setting, or a combination of both.
The results of the second phase of the 2018–19 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) for residential aged care places and capital grant components should be announced by April 2019.
Information about the 2018–19 ACAR STRC results, including details of the successful approved providers, is available on the department's website
