The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute will receive $1 million to expand a rare cancers clinical trial.

The trial focuses on three rare cancers and investigates reasons behind how the immune system responds to drugs.

The trial will expand to include up to 60 patients living in northern Victoria and southern New South Wales. The expansion will mean patients will not have to travel to Melbourne to be part of the trial.

The $1 million investment is being provided under the Medical Research Future Fund. For more information read the media release.
