Reviews consider how to further strengthen Medicare
Three reviews that examined some of the structures and systems that underpin Medicare, general practice and primary care are now complete:
• the Review of General Practice Incentives
• the Review of After Hours Primary Care Programs and Policy, and
• the Working Better for Medicare Review. -
New cheaper medicines for autoimmune conditions, cancer and heart disease
Australians with types of vasculitis, leukaemia, heart disease, ulcerative colitis and arthritis now have access to new and expanded cheaper medicines under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). -
Ensuring access to rare cancer treatment for patients with neuroblastoma
Every Australian child and young adult with high-risk neuroblastoma will continue to have free access at Australian hospitals to a promising medicine not otherwise available in Australia, known as DFMO, thanks to an agreement secured from the Albanese Government. -
