Accommodation charge top-up supplement for aged care
This supplement is for people who entered residential aged care as high-care residents between 20 March 2008 and 19 March 2010, and were on income support. Find out more about eligibility and how much you get on behalf of eligible residents.

What is the supplement?
The Government pays this supplement for some high-level care residents who were on income support when they entered care.

Eligibility
Residents are eligible if they entered care between 20 March 2008 and 19 March 2010, and at the time:

were high-care recipients

were on income support
-
had to pay an accommodation charge on entry

the charge would have been higher if the resident was not on income support

Services Australia automatically pays this supplement for eligible care recipients.
