I'm Teresa, and I'm a counsellor at Quitline.
We offer a non-judgmental conversation to support people wanting to stop smoking or vaping, and we can be there for them.
People even say how wonderful the service is, and how comfortable they've been made to feel in talking about something that's been quite difficult for them.
It makes them really want to engage in stopping, or trying at least.
The common reasons for people wanting to stop smoking or vaping can be health.
Sometimes it's family.
Financially is also a pretty big one for a lot of people.
We at Quitline understand how difficult it can be, and we would like to explore that with you.
Quitline offer phone counselling, and we do offer a call-back service, so we book calls in to speak with people when they've got availability, and we continue that journey with them.
We also engage with Facebook Messenger questions, WhatsApp and SMSs, and there's the My QuitBuddy app that's really helpful for vaping and for smoking.
We can really support them the way they need to be supported.
And giving Quitline a call will help their chances more than just trying to do it on their own.
This is a journey about doing what's best for them, and how they come out of that.
Anyone can call Quitline anywhere in Australia.
It's a free service and we're here to help.
The reason why I do my job is because I love supporting people wanting to stop smoking or vaping.
Listening to the freeing that people experience once they've stopped smoking or vaping, that nicotine freedom is just amazing.
