The nicotine in cigarettes and vapes is highly addictive which means quitting can be hard.

Often it takes a few tries.

But each time you resist and get through a craving, you’re one step closer to quitting for good.

Quit support services are proven to help people quit both vaping and smoking, and stay quit.

There is no one way to quit, and for many people a combination is most successful – choose the ways that work for you.

You can:

Use the free My QuitBuddy app. It has tips, games to distract you from cravings, and a community forum where you can share ideas with other people who are trying to quit. My QuitBuddy lets you track your progress, highlight your wins and identify reasons for your setbacks.

Go to the Quit.org.au website for tips, strategies and information on what to expect as you quit.

Call the Quitline on 13 7848 to talk to a professional counsellor who has lots of experience helping people quit. They’ll give you confidential advice and support, and you can request a free callback for a time that works for you.

Talk to a doctor or pharmacist about things like medications, gum and lozenges that can help reduce cravings and feelings of withdrawal.

Give up smoking and vaping and improve your health. It is never too late to give up for good.
